BDS Syllabus 2026: UHS Year-Wise Subjects and Official Syllabus PDFs

• Which syllabus applies depends on your batch. UHS has introduced the BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25 (Version 2.0), and has posted Year 01 and Year 02 documents. Older batches follow the professional-year syllabi (First to Final Prof.).

• Legacy structure: First Prof. (basic sciences), Second Prof. (pre-clinical), Third Prof. (clinical foundations), Final Prof. (Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Operative Dentistry, Oral Surgery).

• Duration: four years of study plus a house job. PMDC withdrew its five-year notification in September 2026 and is reviewing the structure.

• BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25 Version 01
• BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25 Version 2.0

Which BDS syllabus do you follow?

Punjab now has two syllabi. UHS launched the second revision of its BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25 for public and private dental colleges in Punjab. The integrated curriculum aligns foundational sciences with clinical dentistry and community needs. Older batches, admitted before it took effect, follow the professional-year scheme (First, Second, Third and Final Prof.).

Ask your college which one applies to your batch. That decides which document below you need.

BDS duration and how it affects your syllabus

The 2025 curriculum was introduced as a five-year programme. That has since been unsettled. On 15 September 2026, PMDC told the Senate Standing Committee on Health it had withdrawn its five-year notification, keeping the BDS as four years plus a one-year house job. On 19 September it announced a review of the academic structure and the house job and internship framework, with final details to follow.

I couldn't confirm how UHS is adjusting 2025 in response. Ask your college in writing.

BDS curriculum: HEC and PMDC

PMDC regulates dental education. The HEC curriculum document in circulation is a 2010-11 draft for a five-year programme, so treat it as background. It is at hec.gov.pk under Revised Curricula .
