BS Chemistry Merit List 2026

For Fall 2026, first merit lists for BS Chemistry are out at the University of the Punjab (PU), Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), the University of Okara and the University of Swabi. Later lists have followed at UET Lahore, GCU Lahore, the University of Sahiwal and the University of Education campuses. Merit is calculated differently at each university, so a percentage from one list cannot be compared with a merit position from another.

How merit is calculated

Ask which formula your university uses before you compare any numbers.

University

Formula

NUST

NUST Entry Test (NET) 75%, HSSC or A-Level part 1 15%, matric or O-Level 10%

NUST NET merit criteria

PU

Matric counts for one-quarter of the weight, plus full FSc marks and any additional marks, divided by the total on the same basis

BUITEMS

SSC 10%, HSSC 40%, NTS test 50%

Worked examples (illustrative, not real candidates)

  • PU: matric 1000 out of 1200 and FSc 900 out of 1100. A quarter of matric is 250 out of 300. Add FSc: 1150 out of 1400, which is 82.14%. Our BS eligibility guide walks through the same calculation. When matric and FSc totals are equal, this works out to 20% matric and 80% FSc.

  • NUST: NET 140 out of 200 is 70%. 0.75 × 70 + 0.15 × 85 (HSSC) + 0.10 × 90 (matric) = 74.25%.

  • BUITEMS: SSC 84.18%, HSSC 91.36%, test 64%. 0.10 × 84.18 + 0.40 × 91.36 + 0.50 × 64 = 76.96. That matches the top candidate on the Spring 2026 list.

Formulas change from year to year. Confirm the current one in the university's admission notice.

PU BS Chemistry merit list 2026

PU's 2026-27 online portal closed in early August, according to our BS eligibility page.

How to check your name and what to do next

  1. Open the university's own admission portal or notice page and find the list for your program and seat type. A university may issue separate lists for regular, self-supporting and reserved seats.

  2. Read the instructions at the top. BGNU's Fall 2026 list, for example, tells selected candidates to deposit their fee by the deadline or lose the right to admission.

  3. Treat every list as provisional. Universities verify original documents, and BUITEMS says its list is confirmed only after that check.

  4. Keep matric and intermediate result cards, your CNIC or B-Form and photos ready.

  5. If your name is missing, watch for the next list. Seats open up when selected candidates do not pay.

Why closing merit changes between lists

When selected candidates do not take their seats, the university offers them to the next candidates. For percentage-based lists, the closing figure drops. For NUST, the closing position number climbs, as the table above shows from 600 on the first list to 1,230 on the fifth in 2026. A missed first list is not the end.

Who can apply

PU and GCUF both ask for FSc pre-medical or pre-engineering for BS Chemistry. Minimum marks differ: our BS Chemistry page gives 45% as a general floor, GCUF applies 45%, and LCWU lists "more than 60%". Read the full rules in the BS eligibility guide and the BS Chemistry overview. To see what you will study, open the BS Chemistry syllabus.

Admissions still open

Some universities were still posting BS Chemistry admission notices in October 2026. The latest on our BS Chemistry admissions page was dated 12 October 2026, from the University of Management and Technology in Lahore.
