B.Ed Fee Structure 2026 in Pakistan

Compare B.Ed fees in Pakistan for 2026: semester wise costs at AIOU, Punjab University and others, totals by route, and where to get official challans.

B.Ed Fee Structure 2026 in Pakistan

There is no single B.Ed fee in Pakistan. The cost depends on the programme length, whether the seat is regular or self-supporting, and whether the university is public or private. Among the published 2026 figures, AIOU’s first-semester fee for its B.Ed programmes is Rs. 30,670 (Autumn 2026), the University of the Punjab’s self-supporting 1.5-year B.Ed totals Rs. 105,200 over three semesters, and Federal Urdu University lists Rs. 54,400 at admission plus Rs. 37,900 per semester for its 1.5-year programme. Always confirm the current challan with the university before paying.

What decides your B.Ed fee?

Three things matter most: the programme, the seat type and the institution.

The three B.Ed routes

1.5-year B.Ed: for graduates with 16 years of education (MA, MSc or BS 4-year) in a subject other than Education. AIOU requires at least a second division. It has three semesters.

2.5-year B.Ed: for BA/BSc or associate degree holders with 14 years of education. Check the B.Ed eligibility criteria before choosing, because universities differ on required marks.

4-year B.Ed (Hons): for FA/FSc students with 12 years of education. It has eight semesters.

Compare like with like. A per-semester figure for a 1.5-year course, which has three semesters, says little next to one from a 4-year degree, which has eight.

How much will the whole programme cost?

The first-semester fee is never the full cost. Here is how to estimate it for a 1.5-year B.Ed.

At the University of the Punjab (self-supporting), the three semesters add up to Rs. 32,915 + Rs. 33,790 + Rs. 38,495 = Rs. 105,200.

At Federal Urdu University, if the second and third semesters are charged at the listed semester rate, the three-semester cost comes to about Rs. 54,400 + Rs. 37,900 + Rs. 37,900 = Rs. 130,200. This is our arithmetic from the published columns, so confirm it against your challan.

At AIOU, only the first-semester fee is published in the tariff. Later semesters depend on the courses you register for, so budget from each semester’s challan.

B.Ed fee at AIOU

AIOU is the route most working teachers consider, since it is an open distance learning programme with no daily attendance. The Autumn 2026 tariff shows the same first-semester fee of Rs. 30,670 across its B.Ed variants: 1.5-year, 2.5-year, 4-year, ADE-based and special education.

The 1.5-year programme runs three semesters and needs 54 credit hours. Each course has an online workshop of 12 hours over six days, and teaching practice is face to face. Assessment is 20% assignments, 30% workshop quizzes and 50% final exam.

B.Ed fee at the University of the Punjab

The Institute of Education & Research offers the same programme under two fee tracks. The regular (merit) track is cheaper. The self-supporting track costs more and has a different admission route. For the 4-year B.Ed (Hons) Elementary, the gap is large: about Rs. 106,820 regular against about Rs. 234,120 self-supporting over eight semesters. Check B.Ed admissions and the merit lists to see which seats each track offers.

Which route should you pick?

Already teaching or working: a distance route like AIOU lets you keep your job.

Full-time student on a tight budget: compare regular-track fees at public universities with self-supporting fees before assuming the cheaper-looking option is cheaper overall.

Just finished FSc: the 4-year B.Ed (Hons) is your route. Compare the total across eight semesters, not the first-semester figure. Browse B.Ed colleges and universities to shortlist institutions.

Costs beyond tuition

Fee tables often hide extra heads. University fee schedules list some or all of these separately:
admission or registration fees (one-time), examination fees per semester, LMS fees, processing fees, and workshop or teaching-practice charges. Ask for the full challan, not just the tuition line. Also check how teaching ties into B.Ed jobs and the B.Ed subjects you will study.

How to get and pay your challan

Download the challan from the university’s own portal after admission. For AIOU, that is the online admission system. Pay at the bank branch named on the challan and keep the stamped copy. Never pay through a third party.
